Mission Statement and Code of Conduct
MaLGRA Mission Statement.
To provide a social service which affirms and empowers gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, takatapui and fa'afafine persons, those questioning their sexuality, and those persons living with Human Immunodeficency Virus (HIV) and/or Acquired Immune Deficency Syndrome (AIDS) who are members of the Manawatu Lesbian and Gay Rights Association Incorporated and/or community, and their family, whanau/significant others; and activly promotes the developments of a safer social environment for our multicultural community.
Code of Conduct.
This Code of Conduct aims to uphold the mission statement and values of the official constitution. This Code of Conduct is supplementary to the constitution.
The Manawatu Lesbian and Gay Rights Association Incorporated (MALGRA) expect the highest standard of behaviour from all its Members and Guests. This Code of Conduct specified below is not exhaustive and Members or Guests considered to have broken the spirit of the code, even when such act or deed is not included or specified, shall still be open to appropriate Disciplinary Action. Members are responsible for informing their guests of this Code of Conduct.
Members and Guests shall whilst on the premises knows as Club Q:
- At all times uphold and maintain the good name of MALGRA and not bring it into disrepute
- Not by word or action, exhibit; homophobic, racist, sexist or violent behaviour.
- Be respectful and tolerant of the beliefs and lifestyle choices of other Members and Guests, and shall not consciously cause offence against such beliefs.
- Not steal items from the premises, Members or Guests. Members are expected to report any theft known to them.
- Not damage the fabric, structure, furniture or items within the premises, and will report such damage however caused.
- Not use, sell or buy substances listed under the Misuse of Drugs Act (1975) on the premises.
- Not use solvents on the premises
- Not bring Alcohol onto the premises.
- Not have or commission the act of sex whilst on the premises.
- Not open the Fire Door.
- Not to go behind the Bar unless on Duty or Working Party.
